DREAM ORGANS
JULIAN RHODES' IMAGINARY ORGANS

Inspired by the grand sweep of the main staircase in Luigi Vanvitelli's Palazzo Reale (1774), this stoplist is for an instrument appropriate for such a site.

Although idiosyncratic, its tonal resources are not unlike those of contemporary Italian instruments such as S. Stefano dei Cavalieri, Pisa (Ciaia 1733), S. Pietro, Trapani (Grassa 1780) and S. Martino, Palermo (Grassa c.1780).
