The Great to Choir coupler was introduced so as to superimpose the Choir Tuba (with the right hand) to a loud Great combination (with the left hand).

The church and organ were seriously damaged in bombing raids in 1943. Parts of the organ went to Rye Methodist, and the Dalladay organ from St. Thomas of Canterbury, St. Leonards was installed in the new post-war building. This in turn was removed when a second-hand organ was installed from St. Catherine's College Chapel, Cambridge in 1979.
