JULIAN RHODES was born in Derbyshire, England in 1964. He attended Chethams School of Music, and completed his musical studies in Manchester and London. He now pursues an international career as a concert organist, pianist and harpsichordist (see the Artemis Agency website). He performs over 3,000 years of music, from ancient Sumeria and Greece to his own compositions and arrangements. He has appeared on television and radio, and has made several CD recordings. He is particularly interested in the history and design of pipe-organs (see his dream-organs website).Julian's main photographic interest is urban landscapes, which he prefers to capture in black & white or muted colours. He limits himself to places he knows well, believing that the most characteristic images usually arise from an unhurried empathy with the locale. Julian's other interests include Indian cookery, local history, literature and Egyptology.
Helena and Julian live at St Leonards on Sea.
