At the time he believed that 'Orlo' was a register comprising several ranks of horizontal reeds.
Fisk's scheme was designed to be economical yet suitable for use with a full symphony orchestra. As is well known, the contract went to Ruffatti who, in 1984, built an organ with 119 stops on five manuals.
